The marathon is a mere 5 days away. Currently I am suffering from a bit of inflammation in my IT band. Since my 20 mile training run, I’ve yet to finish any significant distances without walking due to extreme discomfort and pain.

One thing that bike racing has taught me is the ability to suffer. I think I may need the key to the pain locker this Sunday. Wish me luck.

Being a sufferer of Planter Fasciatis, I sympathize with your pain. Take care of that knee…it could be the beginning of a lifelong battle with arthritis!
It sounds like plantar fasciitis!
The worst thing you can do is "push through the pain"! I did that, and look what happened to me!
