Some days just hurt...

Today was one of those days. Perhaps it was due to a week of overtraining, or sitting in a car for two days, or I just didn’t have it. In Ann Arbor, the winds were ferocious and the field had some serious horsepower. Heeding the advice of Ray D., I stayed to the front at the beginning of the race and followed a few fast wheels. Ray quickly made his move and got away with a few guys.

At that point I decided to take a quick recovery breather and hide. Just when I fell back the field splintered and I got stuck in a bad position. I made several attempts to bridge from that point on but failed…the legs just weren’t having it.

The WSC squad still maintained a decent finish with Ray taking third and Danny somewhere around 6th or 7th. Way to go boys! Danny, you’re a stud…Ray, you amaze me with your “shake and bake” moves and your uncanny ability to read a race and react at the perfect times.

And one other thing, Papa T is also a stud. Although there is no other more frequent 2nd place finisher in Michigan, you can drive it hard even when your training is next to nothing other than bridging gaps between the young offspring on a neighborhood stroll. Congrats on your 2nd yesterday!

Also, big shot out to Allen and Scott for the strong 2nd and 3rd place finish in the B race.

Always proud to race with all the WSC squad! That goes out to all of you…5,4,3,2, and 1’s. Keep things rolling and lets keep our race presence strong.
